Geography Awareness Week Lightning Talks

 

Dear students and faculty,

Please join us in celebrating Geography Awareness Week that will take place November from November 10th to 16th! We plan several great events, so please stay tuned and reserve Tuesday, November 12 and Wednesday, November 13 to participate. These events will include a lecture, Census data presentation, GIS employment round table, and lightening talks by faculty and students. These event are sponsored by the Hunter College Department of Geography and Environmental Science with support from the President’s Student Engagement Fund.

Right now, I am asking you to please sign up for participation in lightening talks! It is a short presentation that explains what kind of research project you have been working on – either in a class or with a professor or mentor, or else. Data projector and internet connection will be available. Lunch will be served for participants and attendees.

Registration is open to all students and faculty. Deadline to register is Monday, November 11, 2019 at 9 AM. Students who register first get prizes - registration (equivalent of $210) to Geography 2050 AGS symposium at Columbia University, November 21 & 22, 2019, “Borders and Borderless World” OR $50 Gift Certificate to Shakespeare bookstore.
