Congratulations to Anna St Martin, one of our newest majors (Class of 2024, Macaulay Honors Environmental Science), who has been offered an NSF funded Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) at the University of Central Florida for summer 2021. Anna will be working as part of a research team over six weeks in the summer, where she will be developing mapping data of disparities in flooding in a community in Belize. The team will also be conducting interviews of people who live in this community. This amazing program is an interesting blend of scientific environmental data about flooding and social science! Although this REU will be virtual this coming summer, there is a one week trip to Belize planned for next year. Funding will also be allocated to future presentations of the research completed over the summer. For more information about the Program please visit https://www.citizensciencegis.org/nsf-reuret-site
