Presenters:

Enrique Lanz Oca: The "Unconquering the Last Frontier" film showed the process of construction and initial political process for the Elwha River restoration. What I can show is what happened after that and nowadays. The dam removal and what I saw this last summer.

Zoja Misut: Blue spaces in Urban lifestyles. She concentrated her research on a koi pond in upper Manhattan where she learned how to manage the ecosystem and keep it prosperous for the community to enjoy.

Nattapat Karmniyanont: How to identify different species of sea turtles.

Peter Manos: Caves and sinkholes in urban environments.
In karst environments, water passes through springs, sinkholes, caves, and underground streams, so it is not always filtered through the ground as it would in non-karst environments, leading to more contaminants in the water. This study uses ArcGIS Pro (version 2.9) to calculate watershed area, the upstream land cover (% forest, % agriculture, and % impervious surfaces), the number of springs, and sinkhole area in watersheds, and compares water quality at various sites in the Shenandoah River Valley. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS (version 27) to determine the impact of karst features on land cover and water quality relationships

Lin Wang: A recap of Greenbelt's society's activities this semester. Including tree plantings and invasive species removal.
