Black Rock Forest Field Trip
March 18-19, 2017


Join the Department of Geography and the School of Education for a weekend field trip to Black Rock Forest in Cornwall NY. This field experience about field data collection using accurate location information. Students will acquire compass and map reading skills, GPS skills, and learn abuot spatial variations of snow depth and the water equivalent of snow.

This trip has received significant funding from President Raab's initiative to increase student engagement and co-curricular activity and dramatically reduces the cost to students to $15 per person and includes transportation, lodging and food.

This trip is open to declared Geography majors/minors, Environmental Studies majors/minors, GIS certificate students, and Noyce Scholars. Reserve your spot by Friday, March 10, 2017 at 3 PM.
