Tips from CLT to Instructors


Dear Instuctors,

Just a few friendly tips and reminders about our department classrooms, labs, conference rooms, and other spaces:

  • All rooms are equipped with data projection equipment, each set up differently. If you are unfamiliar with the equipment and how it works, please see me and we can make an appointment for training. I am available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm. As always, the Audio Visual Department in HN 333 (phone 212-772-4945) provides assistance for AV equipment in all rooms at Hunter during the day, evening and weekend hours. Specific hours for AV are posted on their door or on their website.
  • No eating or drinking is permitted in the computer labs.
  • Be courteous to the next instructor and
    • Log off the computer at the end of your class
    • Power off the data projector at the end of your class
    • Erase the whiteboard at the end of your class


  • If you need office or teaching supplies, inquire in the main office.
  • Email to report computer-related issues or questions.
  • If you forgot your geography computer password, need to reset your password or experience problems loggin into your computer account, contact Nguyen ( to have it reset.

  • Direct 1090B swipe card door access questions or issues to Amy.
  • If there is a problem with the AV equipment, contact Amy or the AV Department.
  • If there are any problems with your teaching rooms, report it to the department's main office or Amy.
  • Free Esri products are available to CUNY students, faculty, and staff – complete the form at .  Faculty requiring such products for all students in a course are to email Amy with the course roster, include full name and CUNY email address. Include what products are need, e.g., ArcGIS for home installation, ArcGIS online account, ESRI training portal account, ArcPro access)


  • Our department maintains a Faculty Publications bulletin board.  Submit a copy of any new publications or articles for posting to Amy. Recent publications from the current and past year are strongly encouraged. Older publications are removed to keep the board current.
  • Our department posts your picture on the department website and outside the main office.  This is to help students identify who you are.  Submit new photos (self-portrait, minimum 3” x 3”, minimum 72 dpi resolution) or updates to Amy.
  • Our department also lists information about our faculty on the department website. Please review your listing under “People” and send any updates to Amy.
