Volunteer with the Stewardship Team to protect forested areas and observe nature in Kissena Park! Volunteers will contribute to ongoing restoration work and learn the importance of species diversity to ecosystem health. During the last hour of this event, volunteers will learn how to identify various spring wildflowers and how to make iNaturalist observations of any other signs of nature you find along the way. Please bring water and a snack as well as your smartphone or camera! We will stay on trails and the hike will not be strenuous, but we will be walking for about an hour, so please dress appropriately. Come dressed in sturdy boots or shoes, long sleeves, long pants, and clothing that can get dirty. Face masks may be worn at your discretion. Space is limited and registration is required. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone. This event has been made possible with funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service.

This event is open to all students, their friends, and families. For more information contact Greenbelt Society of Hunter College.
