Field Geography of Peru (GEOG 372/LACS 330/GEOG 772)
No previous geography courses or previous Spanish speaking ability required

Includes in-country flights to Arequipa and Cusco, hotels with breakfast, city tours, entry to multiple museums, tours of the Toro Muerto Petroglyphs, the Colca Valley, the Urubamba Valley (the Sacred Valley of the Inca), and Machu Picchu.  (Photos of selected sites we will visit)  The course involves lectures and directed fieldwork at each of the sites.

This course satisfies the regional geography requirement for Hunter College Geography majors and the seminar requirement for the Latin American and Caribbean Studies major. It can be used as a substitute for a 300-level elective in the Social Studies majors.

Graduate students are required to complete an independent research project that must be approved in advance.
