I sent something to the printer & nothing came out. Now what?
There are a couple of things you can look for to diagnose the problem:
- Power. Is the printer turned on? If not, flip the power switch located on the right side of the printer.
- Paper. Check the printer for paper by pulling out the paper tray.
- Paper Jam. The printer stopped printing due to a paper jam. Follow the directions on the printer screen to clear the jam. Click the Cancel button to clear the print queue of unprinted jobs.
- Replace Toner. Replace toner message appears and the red attention light is flashing.
- Cable. Make sure the ethernet cable is firmly attached to the back of the printer and the other end of the cable is firmly attached to the wall.
- Print Queue. Click Start -> Printers and Faxes. Check the Status column for the printer you are trying to print to.
