Creating a Proper Password A proper password on your account is the primary and most important way to keep out the bad guys. All passwords must follow the rules below. 1- passwords must be between 7 and 8 characters long. 2- passwords must contain at least one uppercase character and one number. These characters can be anywhere in the password. 3- NEVER use your first name, last name or login as your password. 4- Do not use dictionary words. 5- Good passwords use the first letters of a phrase or book title or song title. 6- You must be able to remember your password, don't write it down. For example..... 6iwHyh78 the letters stand for i wanna hold your hand (Beatles song). We periodically run password-cracking programs. If you haven't changed the default password of if you haven't followed the password-creating rules we will turn off your account and post the user names. You will need to see Pete or Tom to reset your password. If you violate rule #3, your account will be disabled for a period of time. |
